Designers of the Nova Centre in downtown Halifax say public feedback has resulted in them coming up with a completely new look for the development.
However, one of the most controversial aspects of the proposed project — its height — doesn’t appear to have changed.
The former preliminary design involved constructing part of the centre below street level, but that idea has been scrapped.
Developers of the $500-million complex to be built on Argyle Street began holding sessions in July to get public input.
“The input we have received has shaped our design approach dramatically to the extent that the original design was shelved and we went back and started from scratch,” said developer Joe Ramia of Rank Inc.
